Marine activities

Diving is a flagship activity on the island. Its marine area is a Natura 2000 zone; both the seabed and terrestrial spaces are protected. It is essential to visit them while respecting the legislation and using common sense.

The large waves at Donnants are perfect for beginners and experienced surfers alike. This beach has also hosted events from the French Bodyboard Championship.

Cyclotourism

As Belle-Ile-en-Mer is the largest island in Brittany, cycling is a good way to explore its pathways in complete freedom. Although paved roads have to be shared with cars, Belle-Ile-en-Mer has many marked cycling routes. They will quickly take you to certain points of interest while showing you the beauty of Belle-Ile-en-Mer’s inland. 

Note, however, that beaches and coastal trails are off-limits to bicycles to protect the coastline.

Camping de l’Océan does not offer bicycle rental itself. However, a large number of rental companies offer their services, whether for conventional or electric bicycles.
